About the Expert
David Cannon, MD, attended Duke University for his undergraduate degree in chemistry before earning his medical degree there. He went on to complete his postgraduate training in Primary Care Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia.
After 2 years of active duty in the US Navy, he returned to Lynchburg, Virginia, to join a then small group practice in general internal medicine. Over the past several years, this has evolved into a large multispecialty practice with several divisions. Dr. Cannon completed the Integrative Medicine fellowship at the University of Arizona in 2005, and since that time has shifted his focus to an integrative style of practice.
He is married with 3 children and enjoys running, vegetarian cooking, woodworking, and being a lifelong student of medicine and the multifaceted dimensions of healing.
