It is given to those who strive to improve the quality of life today and create a better world tomorrow.
“Tammy Johnson is many things, but first and foremost, she is a leader and a giver in our community,” stated Martha Richardson, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association, Vermont Chapter. “Tammy is the kind of person that finds her strength when faced with what feels like an insurmountable challenge. Her family’s personal experience with Alzheimer’s disease galvanized her to use her voice to raise awareness about dementia and fight for a cure.”
A native Vermonter, Tammy Johnson has a deep devotion and belief in giving back to her community. She has served on the board for United Way of Northwestern Vermont for eight years and is the current Board Chair. In 2014, she chaired the United Way Community Campaign and raised $3.9M to fund member agencies and strategic initiatives centered on our community’s biggest challenges in health and human services. In 2017 Tammy joined the Alzheimer’s Association’s Leadership Board to continue serving the greater good and increase awareness around the disease.
The Reason to Hope Dinner is made possible thanks to the generous support of FoodScience Corporation and the Antonio and Rita Pomerleau Foundation. Proceeds from the event fund crucial programs and services to help Vermonters living with dementia, and to invest in cutting-edge research worldwide.
